10 Reasons I’m Going To Love Visiting Niagara Falls, NY

I’ve been to Niagara Falls, Ontario quite a few times, but I’ve never visited the U.S. side. I’ll be fixing that this month when I visit Niagara Falls, NY. I found 10 reasons to travel Niagara Falls, NY.

  1. Unique Food: From Dwyer’s Irish Pub in North Tonawanda to DiCamillo’s Italian Bakery to family owned restaurants on Pine Avenue, you will experience unique restaurants and eateries with a rich history that have been around for generations.

  1. Wine: With over a dozen wineries in the Niagara USA Wine Trail and even a bar devoted to wine (Wine on Third in downtown Niagara Falls), you know it has to be plentiful and delicious!

  1. Negative Ions:  Although there isn’t a lot of science to back this up, it made the list anyway. It is believed that the mist from Niagara Falls creates negative ions that increase the levels of the mood chemical, serotonin, helping to alleviate depression, relieve stress, and boost our daytime energy. No wonder why everyone is always so chipper!

  1. Indian Restaurants: There are a lot, seven to be exact, and they’re all within a 1-mile radius in downtown Niagara Falls. Naan anyone?

  1. Rainbows: We have tons of rainbows—without all of those pesky leprechauns!

  1. History:  The history of Old Fort Niagara spans more than 300 years. You can tour and view artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries. Hear ye!

  1.  Birds: Well, we don’t necessarily love them all the time, especially in the spring! Anyway, the Niagara River supports thousands of wintering gull and waterfowl species. And we do mean thousands!

  1. Ghosts: Hey, it may be a little scary but the ghosts of The Winery at Marjim Manor were on the SciFi Channel’s Ghost Hunters. They’re famous -that’s why we love them!

  1. Concerts: There are over one hundred free concerts every year. Who doesn’t love free?

  1. Water: Lots and lots of water.  About 750,000 gallons of water flow over Niagara Falls each second. That’s about 3,160 tons if we did our math correctly.
